Re-reading a great book!

I haven’t re-read too many books. The HitchHiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is an exception… and, other than that, I can’t think of too many. Right now, I’m re-reading Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife. It was a fantastic read the first time through… almost life-changing. Recommended to me by a really good friend, I’ve […]

Another quote…

Ben Franklin said, “In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.”

Gandhi’s “Seven Blunders.”

Gandhi’s thoughts on the seven most perilous mistakes threatening society 50 years ago are as relevant today as they were then…  Just came across these in the office of a professor on campus.  I think I’d seen them before, but I’m glad I “re-discovered” them. Wealth without work Pleasure without conscience Knowledge without character Commerce […]

Fringe Benefits…

Well, I haven’t posted much lately… haven’t had time!! I love my new job so far. It’s awesome. Non-stop walking around campus and great interaction with people. Two things I love. And it reminds me daily of why I love BGSU… Three things… Eye contact, smiles, and “Hello.” You don’t get that everywhere. But on […]

PepperGals — The Sequel!!!

Wish I could have zoomed in on Maryellen’s eyes. Tears rolling down her face! Her hic-ups are priceless too! Kelley, well, she’s either WAY tougher than anyone else in the world, or she cheated somehow! 😉

So far, so good!

Well, almost a week of BGSU employment under my belt and so far it’s going well. I think I fit pretty well for the work that needs to be done. Still need to learn a lot about the processes and procedures of the department, but that will all come along in time. Tell you what […]

Second guessing…

Well, tomorrow I start my new job at BGSU. I’m excited! I think it’ll be great in the long-term, but to be honest, I’m second guessing myself a little bit right now. I think that’s normal, but I hate the feeling of wondering if I made the right choice. Everyone tells me I did, but […]

Back to work… and more photos

Well, I’m going to head back in to Glasstech today. Not sure how much I’ll be able to do, but it’ll be kind of nice to get back into the grind again. I don’t think I’ll be able to much more than half-a-day though. Ugh… sinus surgery kicked my butt. Just don’t have it in […]

Raise one for Michael Jackson tonight…

I can’t have a beer post-op yet, but if I could, I’d certainly raise a toast to Michael Jackson (no…. not that one). One of the most influential authors and authorities on beer in the world (and whiskey as well), Jackson passed away today at home in England. I own a couple of his books […]

Inside my head

I’m not really sure what this shows other than “diseased” sinus that had to be repaired. Apparently where I have 3 holes, you’re only supposed to have one… so they repaired that and just gave me one big one or something. In any case, it’s cool to see how shiny things are in there!
