I've read your sentiments on Anderson Arena before and am very similar in my feelings for the building. Growing up I would stay after men's games for informal shoot-around/pick up with Jon Larranaga. There was a core of us that would do that and would be joined by a young Brandon Pardon and others. In high school I would find excuses to do "research" at Jerome, knowing I could sneak over to AA and hear the sneaks, and smell the unique smell of hardwood, sweat, stale popcorn- spelling it out sounds so gross, but to fully be "home" is to have all senses invaded. When I went away for college I would get back for holidays and breaks. My first day back ritual included going over to AA and taking it in, then heading over to Mr. Spot's for lunch! It's nice to know there are others out there that find the quirks and unique-ness of Anderson Arena a sentimental and comforting surrounding.
