Looks like John McCain and I have something in common!
Not thrilled about the guy politically, but turns out we were both born in the Panama Canal Zone! I was always told I could never be president because of it. Interesting… now some people are looking into the same for him.

This is the rule. It will be fun to watch him get around it. I don’t necessarily agree with the rule, however, it is the rule. Somehow it will have to be addressed. You could, of course, just ask Huckabee to add it to his list of changes he’d like to make to the Constitution.
Here I thought you were ineligible for the presidency because you posted a Far Side comic on your blog without permission. Hmm.
Problem is, there’s no definition of “natural-born.” The Panama Canal Zone was US territory and he was born on a military base. (I wasn’t… I was born in a civilian hospital) His father was deployed there (meaning they weren’t there by choice) at the order of the US government. Seems “natural-born” to me… and I don’t think the Supreme Court has ever said otherwise… my guess is they’ll get their chance this go round.
