Tomorrow night I’ll be fulfilling a life-long dream! Well, ok, maybe it’s not that dramatic, but we’re going to see the ORIGINAL 4 members of Asia tomorrow at the House of Blues in Cleveland! Asia has been my favorite band since back in 1982. They actually came to Toledo back then, but, being only 12, I didn’t go see them.

Once they broke up, the Asia name continued, but they weren’t the same. I actually went to see a different incarnation of Asia last summer with David. It was great! But this is different… This is Steve Howe, Carl Palmer, Geoff Downes and John Wetton! THIS… is Asia!!

The weekend will be packed with goodness! Starting out skipping out of work early and heading to a friend’s boat in Cleveland for some pre-concert dining and hanging out, then on to the show. Afterwards we’re staying at another friend’s home in Akron so that we can get up early for Maryellen’s first triathlon which is in Akron at Portage Lakes!! Then home afterwards, church and then meeting up with one of Maryellen’s best friends from HS who will be in town. She’s going to come home and spend the night at our house and then Sunday we’re going to the Race for the Cure in downtown Toledo! WHEW!! I’m tired out just thinking about all of it!

I’ll close this with what I feel are the most apropos Asia lyrics for this event… until after the show, Ride easy, my friends:

This is for real, I never felt so good before
I see the world through different eyes
Now that you’re back, nothing in the least can overcome me
Misery gone, plus all the doubt that over-ran me
But you’re back…

Now I can see you
Now I can feel you
Now that I want to
Now I can touch you
Next to me
Here it comes

Here comes the feeling
Here comes the same old feeling
Here comes the feeling
Here comes the same old feeling
