I did it!!!
Well, I did my first 10K today. It wasn’t pretty, nor was it easy, but I did it, so there!!
We’re having a blast so far in Portland. Got to see family and got hooked up with some sweet free wireless from a friend/former co-worker. 😉
Tomorrow we head to the coast, to Cannon Beach. I doubt there will be Internet access there… maybe not again until next weekend, actually… I might upload some photos tonight or tomorrow before we take off… or I might just wait until the trip is over…

Run, G, run! That’s pretty impressive. I can barely drive 10k without getting winded…
Is that your shirtless bodyguard behind you?
That’s very impressive. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t walk 10K without stopping at least 20 times.
I think G is that doods bodyguard.
mmmm sweet free wireless.
is that a fanny-pack?
Way to represent BUGS! Roll along you f-ing falcon & fellow alum. I ran at least three days a week for the last 6 months. Mostly for the privacy/alone time and to ward off atrophy, but it was no match for the bag drag onto the last two airplanes with heat augmented by jet exhaust, which, of course, we were directed to stand in by unmerciful drill-sergeant wannabe pax terminal employees. It’ll be a while before I choose to run again so more power to ya. Laurie, er uh, the Master Sergeant I work for, has drug me out of my semi air conditioned cot in the evenings and forced me to walk, but the only running I’ll be doing for a while will be chasing a plane or my kids shortly thereafter, or maybe a beer truck, HENCE, like the previous commenters, I too am impressed! (sorry it took me so long to make that point, can you tell I’m a little bored).
You RAN 6.2 MILES????? (I had to look that up, of course, not being fluent in “k”.) I can walk 3 miles, but 6.2 would definitely have me hobbling. I am very very impressed! WTG, Grant!!!
Way to go G-man! From the looks of the guy behind you, I would be running fast, and finishing a 10K also! Did he get lost on his way to Gold’s Gym and end up in the race or what? 🙂 Have fun during the rest of your vacation, and remember, work awaits you! R
