Going WAY back
One really cool gift I got for Christmas was from my mom. She got two really old photos scanned in and touched up and then printed and framed for me. The two pictures are of my Great-Great Grandfather and my Great-Great Grandmother is one too. (click on the images below for a bigger view)
In this one, my GGGrandmother is seated and my GGGrandpa is the one on the left with the moustache and trumpet/cornet:
This one is a shot of a quintet of some sort. You can see my GGGrandpa second from the right with the cornet.
My Great Great Grandpa’s name was Rock. Not 100% sure if his last name was Cummings or not. I’m going to try to find that out. It was my Grandpa Cummings’ Grandfather though. Pretty cool!!

Ever notice how people in old photos are NEVER smiling? They always have a dead serious look on their face. They must be looking down on us from above going, why the hell is everyone so damn happy all the time???
Good point K-man. If you’ll notice though, in that top photo, my G-G-Grandma does have a smile on her face. 🙂 Normally, they look like having their picture take is about the biggest inconvenience imaginable!
