Don’t feel too bad G, I went through that feeling last year, and this year I had to deal with the fact that I turned 34. Oh well, you just have to move on.
For me it helps that my wife just turned 29 🙂
Man…you guys are getting as old as me! Before you know it, they will be naming schools, streets and dorm’s after you.
Happy birthday G and Ed! I’m 30 now and still look 12 so i’m not to depressed. I did notice my hair line is retreating though. Lets do lunch soon!
In exactly two days, I will be 26 years old. For the last 8 years I have been dreading each birthday year. It is not enough that a person has to age every year and wonder where the hell their life is going, but also be bombared with birthday fanatics. A birthday fanatic: (1) one who calls to find out if their will be a birthday celebration in hopes of being invited, (2)one who throughs surprise parties even when the person having the birthday does not want one(3) one who tries to convince another to have a birthday party. These lunatics are annoying and should be avoided at all costs.
Birthday’s definatley suck.
Well, happy birthday, Julie! You are right on about birthday lunatics…they’re out there…and they ruin birthdays!
Yes, birthdays do suck! Every year I have to go through them alone…only to be reminded that I’m getting older…and I will be 48 tomorrow. I remember 20 like it was yesterday.. birthdays do suck, so don’t feel alone…like me…
Birthdays really suck. So mom gives me $50 for my bday. Then she says I owe her $40 so I actually only get $10 for my bday. Then she says I owe her another $28 for the car tag which means I paid her $18 for my bday. I bought my mom a washing machine for her bday which it 3 days after mine. Ain’t that a rip off? No one even said happy bday to me all day. My 14 yr old daugter would not even sign the card my mom got her to give me. She said she was too busy to do it. Yeah, busy with video games and her friends. “Put mom on the back shelf, she’ll keep”, that’s what she says. But if I don’t shell out $200 for gifts and $250 for big party when she turns 15 in a month she will blow her top. Every one takes and takes and never gives anything in return. All I ever get is the shaft. Never even had a party my whole life cause no one ever cared enough to give me one. My brother got parties as a child, but I never did. Mom said it was because his bday was in the summer and mine was at Thanksgiving so we could just do my cake for desert. You don’t lump a child’s bday with a holiday for everyone. That ain’t right! Sorry to unload. I’m just really hurt!
Well,I am turning 22 today and obviously I am not having a real ‘special’ day.For starters,my employer yelled at me for someone elses mistake…
I had a hectic year filled with sadness and loss and this year ‘my’ day seems rather empty. My dad will most probably get way too drunk too even remember my birthday and my mom will just cry and watch video’s of my previous b-day when we were a ‘happy’ family….
I have never (except for one time) had a b- day where there wasnt shouting or sadness involved.
I think every year I get a new reason as to why I hate my b-day:
1)I have to share this day with 4 other relatives and to save money we all get to ‘celebrate’ together-some of them are very boring and dull,so the ‘party’ is always predictable.(all of us get the same gifts as well)
2)I have to do all the work on my b-day since it is ‘my’ party(this does not apply to the other 3 hosts of the ‘party’ of course…) and I have to clean up and pour tea since I am a woman…..What a load of BS!!This is so not the 1950’s anymore….!But that is their culture.
3)People think it is ok to forget because once you turned 21,the b-days that follow do not matter..What the hell! I still party! I am 22,not 88!
